imo Monks shouldn't run Ursan because they are too squishie of targets.
But any build with Ursan on the skill bar works since you will not be healing

I've ran Ursan on my monk ever since I first got it, had no trouble. I'd prefer mobs stick on my monk anyway because heals and prot can focus, and you can tank better with Ursan's Rage.
I have one more area left for Legendary Vanquisher. Done at least half of them with solo with my monk has ursan.
My monk uses a zealous axe of fortitude (zealous because you get double energy per hit and still have -2 pips) and a tactics shield of fortitude. Tactics because you can put 9 to have full armor and I split rest between axe and prot. If I am out of ursan, my monk uses remove hex, prot spirit, shielding hands, dismiss condition, rebirth (just in case), dwarven stability and Drunken Master.
You don't lose stance when you go to Ursan. I sometimes replace drunken master with a mantra (sacrifice some dmg) in heavy elemental areas, example dealing with hydras.
Sometimes I replace dwarven stability and drunken master with save yourselves and another skill.
Ideally, you will be equipped with +health runes.

It can be done. I have some monk guildies that have to do it when no one else can fill the role. To make them less squishy consider going secondary /w or /pa to put points into a sheild line and carry one. Only put in enough to meet requirment. You don't have to because you can just carry any shield without meeting the requirements and get +8(if it's +16). But +8 more would help. Make sure the shield has Fortitude +30 health and Luck of the Draw-5^20% inscription. And for your weapon go zealous and +30 health. With a +5 energy inscription. Maybe use a +5 armor? Not sure over time what would be better. + 30 health or + 5 armor. I know if you get down to 0 health you would've wished you had that +30 health. Personally I like to use melee because you have to be that close to use your skills. And while they are recharging you wack em with sword or axe to gain extra energy. Even if you have no points in the weapon line with ursan roar you gain bounus damage. I would also look into either survivor or stalwart's insignias.
As for skills while you not in form. Take 2 more pve. Like a summon and ebon escape. To quickly get out of battle. The rest I would go smite/signets. Do some damage and build energy back up to be ready to go back in to battle.

I started running Ursan yesterday, and its Awesome! =) I bought a Murasai sword or whatever its called, with some hit points and zelous, which helpes holding Ursan up. When I farm norn faction I put heroe hybrid healer both prot and healer henchmen then fill up with damage, and we take down very very big groups at the same time without problem.
Best of all its fun for a change, and if you help people with lower level missions you can actually help the same way all those Dervish do, go and insta kill all the monsters.
Ursan as a monk = Awesome! -- I dont care what the whine people says.

Ursan is fine on a monk, i would recommend you go Mo/Me and pack [skill]ether signet[/skill] onto your bar plus whatever else you enjoy.

I've been running Ursan in Hm with my monk no problems.
My advice is to go MoW....sword @11, tactics @10, prot @10
skills
Ursan,
pain inverter
Asuri Ice Minion(the one with ice spikes)
Aegis
prot spirit
shield of absorption
shielding hands
Rebirth
__________________________________________________ ___
before fight cast minion, then aegis, then pain inverter...@10 energy turn ursan on and your energy is back to 30.
__________________________________________________ ____
Have a seperate set of armor for playing ursan.
Armor - Stalwart runes (+10 vs on physical)
vigor
4 vital runes.
sword +30hp or 5 armor
shield +30health and -2dam 20%
Most importanly Zeolous mond on your weapon to heal keep on your energy. u arent penalazed of zeolous weapons your energy stays at minus 2.
Also, between fights u can have eve(hench) blood renewal u too keep urans on. Take a wand/staff....she won't recharge if u have a sword/axe/bow etc.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Your health will be +800hp. your armor between 80-106ar. and you will deal more damage than all other possible skill combination other than SS, MM, or 55monk.

Monk is fine lol. Just need some skills from Norn to boost up armor and make sure you are using the insigma that give u 15 armor when you are under conditions. For secondary I would suggest the signet that give you energy.

This has helped me quite a lot as my main character is a monk and close to obtaining it and would have just neglected it and let one of my other characters take full advantage of it when it gets it...but that may not happen as quickly as I would want it so after reading this it has made me feel more confident in using it on my monk.
